Because your app is so unusable that people stop using it, you actually send fake notifications like ‘Whatsapp: Hi’ or ‘Facebook: [name] commented on your photo’.”

This is worth separating from ordinary nuisance. A notification styled to look like a WhatsApp message from a person, or a Facebook comment on your photo, is not an advert you can ignore — it is designed to be indistinguishable from contact with someone you know. You open it because you think a human is talking to you.
A perfect 5.0 is not a good sign
An average of exactly 5.0 across 217 ratings means essentially nobody left four stars. Real products do not perform like that. Legitimate apps with thousands of happy users still collect a scattering of three- and four-star reviews from people who found a bug or did not like the layout.
A flat 5.0 on an app that carries a complaint this specific tells you the rating and the experience are being generated by two different populations — and only one of them is still using the app.
“Risk-free” is doing quiet work
The store description offers a “Paper Trading Simulator” with “virtual portfolios in a risk-free environment”. Taken literally that is an honest product category, and a genuinely useful one for learners.
It is also the safest possible wording for a developer. A simulator owes you nothing. There is no balance to pay out, no regulator with an interest, and no customer relationship — only a person, an interface and an advert after every tap. The word “risk-free” describes the developer’s position at least as well as the user’s.
Who publishes it
Every Play listing carries an App Support panel holding the developer’s website, email and privacy policy. This one gives a free web.app subdomain, the Gmail address videomakerappsinfo@gmail.com, and a Blogspot page dated 2 October 2022 that names its operator as “Slideshow Vid Maker” and never once uses the words withdraw, payment, deposit, money, bank, trading or invest.
That same email and policy are published by a second Play developer account, Amazing Video Status, whose trading app has passed 500,000 installs. The Slideshow Vid Maker shelf itself runs from video makers and a spam blocker through four trading apps to an app called All Bank Balance Check.

Turn its notifications off, not just the app
The verdict: we are not calling this developer a criminal enterprise, and no regulator we checked has issued a warning about it. What the public record shows is an app with a flawless 5.0 rating, a verified report of notifications impersonating WhatsApp and Facebook, an advert on every tap, and a privacy policy written for a slideshow video app. It calls itself risk-free. The risk it removes is the developer’s.
