When the Financial Conduct Authority warned about alphainvestments.uk in April 2024, it listed two websites, not one. The first is gone. The second is still live today, and it is still promising 10% in 24 hours.
What the FCA published
The notice is a clone warning, first published 26 April 2024 and last updated 16 April 2025. The FCA’s wording is its standard formula for this category: “This firm is not authorised by us but has been contacting people pretending to be an authorised firm.”
The details recorded against the clone: telephone +44 7448 165833, emails info@ and support@alphainvestments.uk, and two websites — alphainvestments.uk and alpha-investment.uk.
The genuine firm being impersonated is named on the same page: Alpha Capital Partners LLP, Firm Reference Number 470085, 37th Floor, One Canada Square, London E14 5AA, telephone +44 20 7352 9648. It has no connection to any of this.
A mobile number for a firm on the 37th floor
Set the two numbers side by side. The authorised firm answers a central London landline. The clone gave a 07448 mobile — a number anyone can buy over a counter for a few pounds, with no address attached and nothing to trace.
Regulated firms do not run client money through a personal mobile, because a landline is tied to premises and a premises is tied to a company. That is the whole point of it. We saw the same shortcut in a clone that gave an Aberdeen number for a London firm.
The spare domain is the story
We checked both addresses on 11 September 2026. alphainvestments.uk no longer resolves — no DNS record at all. alpha-investment.uk loads normally.
Registering a second domain before the first is burned is not an accident, it is a continuity plan. The operation expected to lose the name it was using and arranged somewhere to go. What it did not plan for is that the FCA published both, which is the only reason the replacement can still be identified two and a half years later.
What is on the live one today
The site brands itself Alpha Investment Management LTD, carries a 2025 copyright line, and gives an address at 12 Christchurch Street, London SW3 4AR. It states no company number anywhere — the About page says only that it is “lawfully enlisted in United Kingdom”, written in the mangled, synonym-swapped English of a template bought and rebadged.
The offer is four tiers:
- 10% after 24 hours — minimum £100, maximum £500
- Up to 15% after 48 hours — £500 to £2,500
- Up to 30% after 72 hours — £2,500 to £10,000
- Up to 60% after 96 hours — £10,000 to £50,000
Beneath that sits a four-level referral commission paying 2%, 2.5%, 3% and 4% for money brought in by people you recruit.
Take the first tier at face value. £100 growing at 10% a day, compounded, is about £2.8 billion in six months. No investment does that, and nobody is claiming to have found one — the tiers exist to size deposits, and the referral ladder explains where the payouts to early depositors actually come from. It is the same arithmetic as a site that promised clients were “guaranteed to bring profit”, and it ends the same way.
The name belongs to someone else
There is a real ALPHA INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT LTD at Companies House — company number 08855125, active since 21 January 2014, registered office 29 Charles II Place, London SW3 4NG. Same name, same corner of Chelsea, different address.
We are not suggesting that registered company has any connection with the website, and we have no reason to think it does. That is exactly the difficulty: clone fraud works by borrowing something real so your check comes back clean. Searching a name and finding a company is not the same as confirming the people emailing you are that company.
On the FCA register there is no currently authorised firm called Alpha Investment Management. The nearest entry, Alpha Investment Management (UK) Limited (FRN 191119), is recorded as no longer authorised and is a different business at a different address.

Our verdict
Read the whole warning, not the headline. An FCA notice lists every website, number and email the operation was using when it was reported — and when there are two domains on one notice, the second is the one still taking deposits after the first goes quiet. That single habit would have protected anyone who checked this name in the past two years.
Nothing on alpha-investment.uk can be verified: no company number, no licence, no regulator, and a rate of return that does not exist. The address and the borrowed name are there to survive a thirty-second search, and they do.
If you have sent money to either domain, tell your bank today and report it to Action Fraud. The site still being up does not mean anyone is coming back to pay you — it means it is still open to the next person.
