Binary Options Trade Aid — Praise for a Missing Feature

Binary Options: Trade Aid Google Play listing flagged by ReclaimDC

Verdict up front: Binary Options: Trade Aid has 100,000+ installs and a store description that calls itself “completely risk-free”. Its most helpful review praises the app’s fast withdrawals — a feature the listing says does not exist. And the description is not even for this app: it names a different product six times.

Start with the product that is banned

Binary options are not a grey area in the United Kingdom. On 2 April 2019 the Financial Conduct Authority made its ban permanent: all firms acting in or from the UK are prohibited from selling, marketing or distributing binary options to retail consumers. The FCA estimated the ban would save retail consumers up to £17m a year. The EU prohibited the same product for retail clients the year before. That is the market this app is teaching people to enter.

“Completely risk-free”

The store description makes a claim no financial product is permitted to make, and makes it by comparison to three real trading platforms:

“Unlike Quotex, Olymp Trade, or Kite, this investment platform is completely risk-free.”

Google Play store description, as published

It goes on: “Enjoy all the benefits of Angel Broking, Upstox, and other paid platforms for free!” Angel One and Upstox are large, licensed Indian brokers. They are being used here as a borrowed credential, by an app that is not one.

The description belongs to a different app

Read the listing carefully and the product name changes. The app is called Binary Options: Trade Aid. The description calls it Binary Options: Smart Investments — six separate times, including the closing line “Download Binary Options: Smart Investments now…”

A store listing is a template someone forgot to finish renaming. That is not, on its own, fraud. It does tell you how much care went into the one page the publisher controls completely.

A review for a feature that is not there

The app has no deposits and no withdrawals. Its own pitch is lessons, tutorials and practice tools. Here is the review sitting at the top of the page:

“Best binary trading app I have used. Clean UI, fast signals, and withdrawals are quick. Demo account helped me learn without risk. Customer support is very responsive. Made consistent profits after 2 weeks of practice. Highly recommend TradeAid!”

Ahmad Mian, 12 May 2026 — 9 readers marked this helpful

Quick withdrawals from an app with no withdrawals. Consistent profits from a demo account. It reads like copy, because it reads like every other five-star review of this kind: a list of product features in a reviewer’s mouth.

The one review on the page that sounds like a person is the careful one:

“However, always trade carefully as binary options carry high risk and profits are not guaranteed.”

Ivy, 23 April 2026

A user writing the risk warning the developer left out is the clearest signal on the page.

How to check an app like this in two minutes

Read the store description for a second product name. A listing that still carries another app’s title was assembled, not written. Then check whether the reviews describe features the app says it does not have — praise for withdrawals in a product with no withdrawals is the single cheapest tell there is.

And treat risk-free as disqualifying. No regulated firm in the UK or EU may print it, which is why unregulated ones do.

The verdict: we are not alleging that vikodevs has taken anyone’s money — this app takes no deposits, and no regulator we checked has named it. What the public record shows is a Finance-category listing with six figures of installs advertising a banned retail product as “completely risk-free”, under a description written for a different app, carrying top-rated praise for a feature that does not exist. Every one of those is the publisher’s own page, not a user’s complaint.
