“Get real Bitcoin every day using the in-app crypto mining software,” says AB Mining (abmining.vip). It calls the service “FREE” and “ZERO risk”, then explains that its mining is “virtual”: an algorithm that “replicates the hash rate” rather than mining anything.
The FCA’s view
The UK Financial Conduct Authority added the brand, listed as “ABC Mining”, to its warning list; the alert reached IOSCO’s I-SCAN network on 18 May 2026. The address in Poole is an accountant’s care-of address, not a mining operation. App listings for the same brand have been titled “AB Mining: CFD trading app”, a different product again.

If no hardware mines anything, the bitcoin a user sees in the app is a number the operator chooses. The 15% referral commission tells you where the real money comes from: new users who buy upgrades to “increase the speed” of their virtual mining.
If you used AB Mining
- Do not pay for speed boosts, upgrades or withdrawal fees.
- Screenshot the in-app balance and any purchase receipts.
- Ask your app store for a refund of in-app purchases.
- Report to Action Fraud in the UK.
The verdict: simulated mining, real payments and an FCA warning. Uninstall AB Mining.
Free mining apps usually make money in one of three ways: selling speed boosts, collecting referral sign-ups or holding a minimum withdrawal just out of reach. If your balance keeps growing but you can never quite withdraw it, that is the design. Uninstalling stops the pressure to buy upgrades, and it costs you nothing you could actually have taken out.
