Digital Cab Scam — Borrowed AFSL, Five-Week-Old Domain

Digital Cab flagged as scam broker

Digital Cab (digitalcab.org) sells international money transfers and foreign exchange as an “Australian owned” firm holding AFSL 459050. ASIC warned on 1 October 2026 that the site is impersonating FX Corp Pty Ltd, the real holder of that licence. The domain was registered on 28 August 2026 — about five weeks ago.

A real licence on a fake site

AFSL 459050 is a genuine Australian Financial Services Licence, but it belongs to FX Corp Pty Ltd. FX Corp is not involved with digitalcab.org. ASIC says the site is using that licence to look legitimate. A licence number is only proof if the website on the register matches the one you are on.

‘Bank-beating rates’

The pitch targets people sending money abroad: relationship managers, segregated client funds and indicative AUD/USD rates. Money-transfer scams are dangerous because victims send large one-off sums, for a house deposit or a family payment, straight to the scammer’s account.

⚠ Verified evidence

  • ASIC warning, 1 October 2026: impersonating FX Corp Pty Ltd.
  • Displays AFSL 459050, which is not its own.
  • Domain registered 28 August 2026.
  • Targets international money transfers.

Five weeks old, ‘offices’ in four cities

The footer lists Sydney, Singapore, London and New York. The domain was registered on 28 August 2026, and ASIC flagged it about five weeks later. A .org address for a commercial FX firm is another oddity.

How to check

Search ASIC’s Professional Register for the AFSL number and compare the website and phone listed there with the one you were given. Contact the licensed firm only through the register details.

What to do if you paid Digital Cab

  • Stop sending money — no “tax”, “release fee” or “upgrade” will unlock a withdrawal.
  • Keep every record: receipts, wallet addresses, emails and chat screenshots.
  • Call your bank or card issuer today and ask about a chargeback or recall.
  • Report it to the regulator that issued the warning and to your local police.
  • Ignore anyone who offers to recover the money for an upfront fee.

The verdict: Digital Cab dresses itself in another company’s licence. Do not send money through it.
