sterwen-sa.net Scam — FINMA Says It Is Not Sterwen SA

Verdict up front: sterwen-sa.net presents itself as “Sterwen SA”, a regulated multi-asset broker in Geneva. Switzerland’s financial regulator FINMA put the site on its warning list on 30 March 2026 and states plainly that it is not related to the real Sterwen SA registered in Geneva. A borrowed Swiss name

There is a genuine company called Sterwen SA in Geneva, entered in the Swiss commercial register under CHE-114.665.353. FINMA’s warning exists precisely to separate that company from this website. In its own words, sterwen-sa.com and sterwen-sa.net are “not related to Sterwen SA, Geneva, which is registered in the Swiss Commercial Register”.

That is the classic clone set-up: take the name of a real, registered Swiss firm, put it on a new domain, and let the registry entry do the persuading. A victim who checks the Swiss commercial register finds a real Sterwen SA and relaxes. The register entry is real. The website is not theirs.

Eleven days from domain to warning

RDAP records show sterwen-sa.net was registered on 19 March 2026. FINMA had it on the warning list by 30 March 2026 — eleven days later. Six months on, the site is still up and still asking visitors to “Start Trading”.

“Regulated” — by whom?

The homepage promises “regulated, execution-focused access to global financial markets”, “regulated derivative instruments” and “flexible, regulated leverage”. It offers forex, US, UK and EU shares, indices, commodities, gold and silver, and Bitcoin and Ether. Nowhere on the page is a regulator named, and no licence number is given. The only Swiss regulator that has published anything about this website is FINMA — and what it published is a warning.

A Geneva address with a UK phone number

The contact block lists a headquarters at Rue Pierre-Fatio 15, 1204 Genève, but the phone number is British: +44 1975 968285, with support hours given in “UK time”. A Geneva broker that runs its desk on London hours from a UK number is not what the page claims to be.

That number matters for another reason. Agast LTD, a separate site that FINMA also warned about in September, lists +44 1975 968329 — the same +44 1975 968 block — and uses the same footer layout of Client Agreement, Privacy Policy and Conflict of Interest links over a “© 2026” line.

⚠ Verified evidence

  • FINMA placed www.sterwen-sa.com and www.sterwen-sa.net on its warning list on 30 March 2026, recorded as “not entered in commercial register”.
  • FINMA states the sites are not related to Sterwen SA, Geneva (CHE-114.665.353).
  • sterwen-sa.net was registered on 19 March 2026 — about six months old today.
  • The site calls itself “regulated” but names no regulator and no licence number.
  • It gives a Geneva address but a UK phone number (+44 1975 968285) and UK-time support hours.

Segregated accounts, according to the site

A “Compliance & Risk Management” block promises that client funds are “held separately from company assets”. Segregation is a promise a regulated broker makes to its supervisor and has audited. An unsupervised website can type the same words, and nobody checks them. The risk disclosure at the bottom, meanwhile, says Sterwen SA “provides execution services only” and that clients are “solely responsible for their trading decisions” — wording that shifts every loss onto the customer.

How to check a Swiss broker in two minutes

Search the name on FINMA’s list of authorised institutions and on its warning list at finma.ch. If a Swiss company name appears in the commercial register, compare the website FINMA or the register gives for it with the one you are on. A clone always uses a different domain.

The verdict: sterwen-sa.net borrows the name of a registered Geneva company, calls itself regulated without naming a regulator, runs on a UK phone line, and has been on FINMA’s warning list since 30 March 2026. Do not deposit.
