Vanpretty Capital (vanpretty.com) presents itself as a research driven investment firm with a dual advisor mentorship system. Its home page carries a badge that reads “SEC Registered Investment Advisor” and claims $35 million under management. Spain’s market regulator, the CNMV, warned about Vanpretty Capital, and Estonia’s supervisor republished the warning on 27 April 2026.

CNMV WARNING
- Status claimed: “SEC Registered Investment Advisor”
- Assets claimed: $35M under management
- Team claimed: 150+ professionals
- Client trust: “since 2018”
- Addresses: San Francisco and Greenwood Village, Colorado
- Domain registered: 1 December 2020
An SEC registered adviser is easy to check. The SEC runs a free public database, the Investment Adviser Public Disclosure site, where every registered firm has a record and a CRD number. Vanpretty Capital gives no CRD number on its site. If a firm hides the one number that proves its claim, the claim is the warning sign.

Testimonials written for someone else
The reviews section shows a 4.9 rating and a client quote that begins “Finovate has been instrumental in our growth”. Finovate is not Vanpretty. The text was lifted from a website template and never edited. The page also says clients have trusted it since 2018, while the domain only dates from December 2020.
Two US addresses, one in San Francisco and one in Colorado, sit on a site that a Spanish regulator had to warn Spanish investors about. That pattern is typical of firms that sell to Europeans while dressing up as American.
Vanpretty Capital: Steps to take today
- Search the firm on the SEC adviser database yourself.
- Do not send more money until you have a CRD number that matches.
- Save the call schedule emails and any contract.
- Report the contact to the CNMV or your own regulator.
⚠ Vanpretty Capital red flags
- CNMV warning, republished 27 April 2026.
- SEC badge with no CRD number.
- Testimonial names another firm, Finovate.
- “Since 2018” on a domain from late 2020.
Our verdict: an SEC claim it does not back up, a template review for another company and a CNMV warning. Treat Vanpretty Capital as a scam.
