There is no company called Vision FS Ltd. The name was assembled to sit close enough to a real authorised firm that nobody would look twice, and the Financial Conduct Authority said so on 24 July 2024.
What the FCA published
The notice is a clone alert. Its wording is the FCA’s standard formula for these cases: “This firm is not authorised by us but has been contacting people pretending to be an authorised firm.”
The clone operated from vision-fs.com. The firm it was impersonating is VISION FINANCIAL STRATEGIES LIMITED, FRN 610521 — a genuine, authorised business with no involvement in any of this.
Note what was done to the name. “Vision Financial Strategies” became “Vision FS” — an abbreviation that looks like internal shorthand, the way a real firm’s staff might refer to their own employer. Add “Ltd” and it reads as a company. It is not one.
Why abbreviation works better than imitation
A clone that copies a name exactly invites comparison. Put “Vision Financial Strategies Limited” on a fake website and anyone searching finds two entities with identical names, and the discrepancy is visible.
An abbreviation avoids that. “Vision FS Ltd” returns few results of its own, and a person who half-remembers being told about Vision Financial Strategies will accept it as the same company shortened. The victim completes the connection themselves, which is more convincing than being told.
The domain does the same work. vision-fs.com — a hyphen and an abbreviation. Nothing about it is a misspelling, so nothing about it looks wrong.
The domain is now dead
We checked vision-fs.com on 11 September 2026. It returns DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. No DNS record exists; the address has been given up entirely, roughly two years after the FCA published.
The warning has not been withdrawn and does not expire. If the name is used to approach you tomorrow, the July 2024 notice applies in full.
The check that defeats this
Ask for the firm reference number, then look it up yourself on the FCA register — and read the registered name that comes back, in full, against the name you were given.
An FRN belonging to “Vision Financial Strategies Limited” does not authorise anyone calling themselves “Vision FS Ltd”. The number and the name have to match exactly. That single comparison is the whole defence against this category, and it takes under a minute.
Then call the number printed on the register — never one supplied by the person who contacted you. Clones provide their own contact details precisely so that any check loops back to them.

The same borrowing turns up in every case we document. Adar Capital impersonated two authorised firms at once and ran on three pay-as-you-go mobiles, while the Five Rings Capital clone claimed a City of London office and answered on an Aberdeen number.
Our verdict
Two letters and a hyphen were the entire disguise. No forged documents, no elaborate website, nothing that required skill — just a name shortened until it stopped being checkable.
Read the registered name in full, every time. Abbreviations are where this category lives.
If you sent money to vision-fs.com, tell your bank today and report it to Action Fraud. The domain being gone does not close the matter — payment routes stay traceable long after a website disappears.
